COMMUNE, THE OFFICE OF 2030

A localized office that caters to the locals within the precinct of Cremorne & South Richmond. In 2030, because of the Digital Revolution, remote working is more accessible and has caused a rise in free agents and flexible working hours. The current model of the office has been made redundant. Therefore, the future office of 2030 should provide for the working needs of this rise in free agents flexible working hours and a new role of a Community Centric facility.

As the precinct around the site is going through densification & intensification, the locals are limited to smaller living spaces and poorer living conditions associated with smaller spaces. The office will act as an extension of the house and will provide a niche set of a toolkit which are associated to work. Programs provided are Maker Spaces, Production Facilities & Communal spaces for meetings.

Architecturally, the building has outdoor terraces as an expression. These terraces wrap around each floor plate and functions as breakout space and shading. It provides a transparent literacy of the building's internal space through its rhythm and is supplement by outdoor staircases, creating a relationship between the floorplates.
