FLEX

FLEX is an office building situated in Cremorne which is designed for the year 2030. The building responds to the current workplace and commercial property market issues which do not align with the needs of future workplace practice. The workplace of the building is designed to accommodate businesses moving towards a project based working system where companies will exchange their office space between consultants allowing project teams to work in the same office for the duration of the project. This will mean that the parent company will be run from this office with the ability to accommodate additional consulting contractors. Additionally, flex accommodates a façade system which allows floor plates to be expanded and contracted, allowing for office space to be increased up to 30%, providing flexibility of space and meeting the ever-changing demands of the tenants. To accommodate the expansion of the building, the exterior is wrapped in a flexible mesh structure which responds and adapts to the spatial changes of the building, creating a skin that can bulge and warp as the building takes on different spatial arrangements.
