Friendship Through Flowers

A symbiosis relationship between people and nature; people and people.

"It was last spring, a lovely Sunday morning. I still remember it vividly. The moribana I arranged with the last allium from the garden. Relishing the present; I settled down comfortably here, satisfied, whilst I watched her giving ikebana classes in the classroom."

Sited amidst Elgin Street, Carlton, the ikebana studio brings the authentic craft of Japanese flower arrangement into the local context—celebrating the art of ‘making flowers alive’. A married couple who lives in the ikebana residence, creates and provides ikebana arrangement classes in the studio. To the south, home-studio residential units provide a home to a group of creative individuals who collaborate and contribute to the ikebana studio. It is always an enjoyable experience to meander around, harvesting nature’s materials, meeting new people and witnessing the blooming of Jacaranda trees. It is a space to appreciate the present; a space to appreciate friendships through connecting with people and nature.
