#LINKHouse

An increased number of active, healthy members of society approaching retirement, results in the challenge of modifying their existing home and accommodating a new organisation of extended family as well as the problems of all the current baby boomers facing. In order to improve the situation and responding to the issues caused by loneliness, independency and social exclusion, the main design concept is to create a living space for the clients which can create and activate the network between their family, friends and society, which is named as ‘LINKHouse’.

Different types of shared spaces are located in between four individual boomer houses. A central corridor is running through the whole building which helps to link up all the private and shared area, and builds up a network between the house and the clients.

The design of ‘LINKHouse’ aims to reify the concept of network activation by using all these design elements to help improve the interaction between boomers and the community.
