UNTITLED
a piece of land, a piece of mind
Large cities and towns are always prioritised by the local government when responding to big issues, which unfortunately leaves the tiny towns forgotten and ignored. Blanchetown is a riverside town facing a series of challenges under the threat of climate change and rapid urbanisation process.
Confronting issues including degraded quality on agricultural land, limited fishing resources and fragile water infrastructures, it is more and more likely that Blanchetown is going to vanish in the near future. In this case, a series of small architectural interventions is proposed to preserve traces from the local indigenous culture, writing a remembering narrative for the future generations.
Design of a place for stars is to understand the river, the sky, the land and the relationship between them. The project consists of an observatory, a group of glamping stargazing huts, from which a continuous link on the star observation is established seeking the proposed balance as a response to the disappearance of the local community culture.
the design is
a piece of land, a piece of mind
what left is not the whole pieces, but the traces
the new generation of the redundancy
