In – Between

This project aims to explore how to provide homeless children with a place where they can seek asylum, while at the same time they can play, explore, and build with the surrounding venues and people as normal children. A space for contact and interaction.

Through a series of case studies and research, we believe that the internal space and the external space can be regarded as an organic whole. The internal space provides children with a private residence and meets their daily needs, while the external space is not only a place for their activities, but also Through the conversion of different spatial attributes, it can generate contact with the outside world.

The terraced vegetation on the exterior of the building provides privacy guarantee for the children, while the interior ramp, courtyard, and outdoor activity space and the bay window gives children unlimited possibilities to communicate and explore every corner of the building. This design is not only to give children a place to live and play, but also hope that through this exploration of possibilities, street children can establish a sense of belonging here and become a part of this big family.
