Weixuan Lan and Shuya Wen

This project is located at the middle of Batman Park, along the bank of the Yarra River. It aims to create a shelter for homeless children. According to research, homeless children are more likely to have some mental illness like the anxiety, sadness and isolation due to family problems or the unstable social factors. Mental therapy activities can improve their mental health effectively. Considering this situation, this project would like to create a safe and free paradise by combining ecotherapy and movement therapy with architectural space to heal the emotional trauma of street children in learning and playing. By analyzing the specific activities of the two therapies, the project is divided into active activities area and passive activities area. The two parts will be achieved by combining the different functional house units with the frame. And play facilities will be introduced in the connection of the building. It might create a steady philosophy of play with nature, improves children mental health problems through the group and the individual play.
