Vaults of Transmission: Broadcast Studio of Sushi and Craft

Mould you in my hand,
garden, wood, damp stone.
Salty, tangy but faint,
That’s the signal,
Only have us known.

Vaults of Transmission serves as a physical hinge linking old and new, combining the sushi master with film-makers to broadcast the sushi tradition and the value of the craft globally.

The architecture curates a sequence of sensory transitions to desaturate the tension of filming and being filmed. A linear experience is introduced in the main space to create peripheral visions and encourage emotional connections between the two groups. Personal encounters and rewarded moments are embedded in the rituality of sushi upon different steps of making, preserved in the scents and marks left on the artefacts and building materials. The two groups in this building are connected through movements, filming and publishing, recording their shared memories on a seasonal basis of sushi advocacy.
