This project is about a zero-carbon ambulance branch that is environmentally resilient. The project aims to respond to the climate emergency and the unknown conditions Victoria faces in the future - bushfires, flooding, rising sea levels, erosion, drought, heatwaves, and air pollution.

The objective of the design is to ensure the longevity of Ambulance Victoria Branches and create a pathway for future branches as they face site specific environmental challenges. The project aims to address multiple conditions which Victoria could face through fostering diverse and adaptive ecological systems and infrastructure.

In creating a resilient branch that is targeting zero, the project aims to pave the way towards a more sustainable future in which not only humans benefit but also nature.  The project implements three strategies to achieve this which includes a green envelope, a prefabricated kit of parts glulam structure and a mixed mode system which allows for natural cross ventilation.
