Inspired by the rehabilitation of the quarry, this project aims to also heal the mind, body and spirit of users through establishing functional connections with the landscape. The therapeutic programs include a rehabilitation centre, an art installation park and the main stage. The design of the rehabilitation centre was driven by the strong relationship between the quarry and patients. The architecture encourages the constant exposure of the patients to the site in which they can actively watch the quarry recovery as they themselves heal, creating a sense of hope sense of connection to the recovering land.

Ephemeral artworks were chosen as the primary type of installation for the art park as a metaphor for the concept of rehabilitation. It explores the idea of decay and loss and also the transitional period from one state to another, such as abandonment and new life of the quarry or the sickness and wellbeing of patients.

The design of the main stage is a combination of conscious architectural design and an acoustically optimised design process. The main stage aims to keep a balance between an acoustically optimised shell while maintaining an architectural design that reflects the overall design intentions.}
