A refurbishment and extension of Canberra High Schools Technology Block with the aim of achieving a carbon neutral building. At the master planning scale a new site axis is proposed to create a prominent path through the site. A new corridor that connects the main block to the library is required to achieve this. Planning improvements are made to the technology block to create better relationships between the classrooms. The carbon neutral strategy begins with the all new roof design. Optimised for three criteria, maximise views and openness within the courtyard, efficient placement of solar panels and easy collection of rainwater.
