How can a multi-unit dwelling accommodate for ever-changing needs of residents and a more heterogenous demographic?

The Dwelling for Infill and Domestic Rituals aim to explore this question through the idea of the infill space. They not only provide the residents with a functional quality of being able to adapt to changing lifestyles, but also forms a key part of the architectural expression as residents choose to express their individuality.

The traditionally static facade of a building can now be dynamic, based on ever-changing lifestyles of residents. The internal and external spaces of each unit can be altered easily based on the infill, challenging the traditional idea of a “1 bedroom” or “2 bedroom” unit.

Through a combination of design strategies such as the multigenerational family clusters, a more heterogenous mix of residents in the community can be created.
