The experience of lost in a foggy forest might be not so common, but we have all experienced moments of "fog" come: heavy workload, broken relationships, etc... Covid-19 is the "fog" that not only affects people's health but in all aspects of our life. Physically, our plans and schedules are delayed or canceled, sometimes we are “trapped’ at home; and mentally, people get trapped in negative thoughts, which lead to the increase of the mental health issues.

Therefore, inspired by Bae Bien-U’s Sonamu of the foggy forest, I want to tell a story about "trapped" through the lighting. As Yasmina Reza says, theatre is a mirror, a sharp reflection of society. In my light design, I will combine both the current social phenomenon and my own experiences of lost in the forest to better tell the story, and the emotion of anxiety and uneasiness while “being trapped” through light.

The stage will be set indoors to better control the lighting and avoid the effects of natural light, as the void is the main element that will be used in the lighting design. Once the show has started, there will be no lighting of the auditorium to make a perfect void space. The performance is set as a contemporary solo dance, with sets and lighting elements to complete the stage.
