The trees in “Bao Bien-U Sonamu” are not being gazed at by people, instead, they gaze back at people like a noble presence. The trees are not photographed as a whole, but only parts of the tree trunks. As such, the trees in the photo are read as a representation of unlimited time and nature. The colour of black and white for the whole artwork helps to create a solemn atmosphere. This also epitomises the meaning of dignity and integrity of sonamu in South Korea.

With the background research of “Bao Bien-U Sonamu”, the performance of sonamu is designed to focus on the idea of the relationship between nature and human, showing the noble presence of sonamu. In addition, a plot with the idea of protecting the environment is added into the performance to make the story go more fluently and helps to illustrate the idea of an unlimited nature.
