TAKING CENTRE STAGE

We have reimagined the western entrance to Bourke Street Mall as a vibrant performance space that celebrates the street’s tradition of entertainment. Playful modular furniture directs attention towards the street musician but allows the site to be redesigned for alternative uses. A pavilion provides protection from the Melbourne weather, whilst separating commuters from onlookers and providing the performer with living stage curtains. A stage is created from a radiating pattern etched into the bluestone pavers, with incorporated lighting and greenery that brings the space to life.
