Matrix:
How We Live Now

11 September - 20 October 2023
Co-curators Dr Karen Burns and Sophie Adsett discuss the history of Matrix and the exhibition 'Matrix: How We Live Now' at the Melbourne School of Design.

The exhibition shines a light on the voices and projects of the many researchers involved in the work of the radical London-based all women collective then and now. Material for the exhibition will be drawn from the Matrix Open: Feminist Architecture Archive, with posters, brochures, drawings and videos activating the gallery space.

Feminist organisers and researchers at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning have been actively working to reform labour practice, including diverse communities and centre transfeminism. Through objects, voices, and conversations we are asking - how do we live now?

This exhibition was presented in the Design Gallery.
