Thesis

Rethinking building design: reducing the embodied environmental effects of buildings

This research investigates how environmental data and life cycle assessment tools are used to inform building design, and how these considerations are incorporated into decision-making processes. The aim of this project is to develop a conceptual framework to improve the integration of embodied life cycle assessment tools and data in the building design process; supporting building designers to iteratively evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of a building throughout the design process.
