Farm to Fork: Local people, local food.
The Farm to Fork initiative promotes the development of a locally based food system coordinated by local people from seed to sale. It educates, organises and mobilises new social relations around food. The project focuses on the conversion of carparks and roadways into productive landscape through a process of reclamation and regeneration. This staged transition sees parts of Broadmeadows transformed to enable a local food system featuring harvest hubs, marketplaces, window gardens and nature strip gardens. Farm to Fork encourages community interaction, shared gardens and community spaces, and the local production of food influenced by the diverse cultures of residents.
