The Journey
Creating a pathway across the railway tracks with a series of modular, energy-harvesting units.
The Journey is a raised platform connecting both sides of the railway line and extending north to connect with Hampshire Road. The platform is paved with energy-harvesting tiles that light up at night, providing a colourful and communicative pathway through the site. The small buildings that populate the platform are modular and have been built by locals taking up the offer to construct and occupy small workshops, shops, craft incubators and cafés. The roofs of the buildings are solar panels, capturing energy for the whole site.
