Hybrid Bus Transit Hub

The Hybrid Bus Transit Hub is a staged intervention on the previous railway station site, designed to transform the experience of Sunshine as a transport interchange. Traders with extended operating hours have moved into the existing underpass, increasing traffic and turning the once-intimidating space into a bustling transit zone. The upper levels of the Hub contain a café, gym, and a bar with a great view across Sunshine, all wrapped around a central light well. The transparent façade and green roofs are part of the ESD principles of the construction, which also incorporates rainwater harvesting and passive cooling.
