Darling Mills Activity Centre

Transforming the old Darling Mills into a diverse community hub.

The Darling Mills Activity Centre turns the underused industrial site near Albion station into a diverse community hub incorporating food, creativity and recreation. Transformed in stages, the site first plays host to a productive garden and local produce market, slowly including facilities and space for arts, recreation and other activities. The iconic silos are revamped as creative arts spaces and an indoor climbing gym, providing magnificent views from the top floors. An in-ground wheat store becomes a stormwater filtration bed, feeding a waterhole and splash pool.
