Scale and Network

Two Japanese architects, Maki Onishi of onishimaki+hyakudayuki architects and Miya Akiko of miya akiko architecture atelier will present their work followed by a conversation with Dr Shin Yokoo, Visiting Senior Fellow at the Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore, and Dr Djordje Stojanovic Senior Lectures in Architectural Design at the University of Melbourne, about links between creative research and residential architecture. We will discuss how contemporary creative research intertwines with architectural practice and residential projects of onishimaki+hyakudayuki architects and miya akiko architecture atelier through notions of scale and network, as in the sequencing of spaces, spatial connections, relationship to context, and the association between architecture and structure.
