Biography

Olivia has extensive experience in both academics and industry spanning over 15 years in the built environment disciplines. Her expertise lies in sustainability, circular economy, passive/active design and commercial projects. Olivia was part of research team working on various research projects focused on circular economy within Victoria and circular economy education in the built environment.

Prior to that, Olivia worked as an estimator and contract administrator in different construction firms. She was involved in various types of projects including residential and commercial and in post-tendering and pre-contract meetings to discuss and finalise the contract terms for each construction package. She has strong capabilities in using various tools for cost estimating and cost planning such as Cost X, Planswift, Cubit estimating and Fieldwire.

Her recent research interests include:

  • Circular economy in the built environment: how to increase stakeholder commitment across the lifecycle of a construction project.
  • Circular economy and sustainability - Measuring their tangible and intengible benefits in office building projects.
  • Circular Economy Education - Enhancing circular economy understanding at the grassroots level.
  • Commerical buildings: How to integrate different concepts of sustainability, ESGs and circular economy in such building projects.
