Food is often a reflection of one’s culture, from the produce, the preparation and even the consumption. From a basic human necessity, it is a means to introduce cultures to each other, long having been utilized to bring people together.

Using the cyclic nature of food production, the design incorporates members of the community in each process, from seed to table. The building is a manifestation of this, providing a hands-on approach to nutrition. Not only will members of the community enrich their knowledge of nutrition, but also that of neighboring cultures, strengthening the roots between each other.

At its core, the design fuses agriculture, and the public, through a mechanical means, creating a functioning community ecosystem, the Machina Civitas.
