The LIMB-LAB

A holistic amputee support clinic in Carlton, inspired by the merging of human and mechanical components as a unified system. The centre celebrates the body in all its variations and examines what makes each of us unique. It is a hub that redefines, shifting away from the need to replicate human-ness as the only aesthetic ideal. At the heart of the facility is an interactive manufacturing lab where prosthetic limbs and accessories are produced, and visitors are encouraged to interact and get up close with the process. By creating a conversation about potential, and about augmentation, rather than deficiency, the centre empowers the individual to become the architect of their physical identity.
