CLINIC-X Sexual Health Centre

Clinic-X Sexual Health Centre is designed for the emerging vibrant youth community within and surrounding the inner-city north of Melbourne.

As society becomes more flexible, dynamic and expressive, a future forward approach is taken to design this building, not only to reflect these responses, but to also reinvent the traditional sexual health clinic into a non-institutionalised, exciting, non-stigmatic and inclusive place – essentially providing a new alternative where people can visit and fully embrace their sexual freedom and health in a public space.

Using curvaceous and bodily geometry to evoke visitor’s sense of sensuality and to reflect the unique fluid nature of the body, I wanted to connect programs within the building in a unanimous manner. In doing so I wanted to create a journey for visitors using the curves as a driver for movement. This form also gave me an opportunity to create an internal landscape, a reflection of how people can explore their inner self/sexuality/identity as well as the sexual health centre being an internal exploratory experience.

With the marrying of evocative architectural forms and programming of space, my design aims to pique people’s sensuality to feel comfortable, confident, and sexy during their visit to Clinic-X Sexual Health Centre.
