A world of inescapable connectivity and an unsleeping economy drives workers to unsustainable levels of productivity and profit growth. In France, the 90-minute lunch has been eroded, threatening erasure. Enter the Oasis of the (re)Incline, A pair of juxtaposed volumes that work in tandem to create opposing conditions that offer workers two distinct modes of escape from the drudgeries of the office.

The shimmering tower and glazed roof entice from above and afar whilst up-close tactile cladding tempts yet remains out of reach. Within, two contrasting modes of escape are on offer, modulated by the raking base of the principle mass. Bustling, bright and extraverted above or dark, somber, and introverted below.
