Fishing runs through our veins. We cannot let it go.”--Film Gaza

Fishing, which is an ancestral job for Gaza fishermen, has been an inalienable part of their life. Due to the blockage by Isreali, the fishing area in Gaza has been limited, declining their harvest. This has caused 95% of them live under the poverty line. Besides, with the lack of electricity supply, sewage without disposal or partly disposed is poured into the ocean directly, causing large areas of sea water pollution. Fishermen who come into close contact with polluted sea water are at the risk of skin diseases, diarrhea and kidney and liver failure.

My project, the fishermen club, is the combination of doctor fish clinic and boat school. Fish pedicure aims to cure the skin diseases for fishermen brought by sea water pollution, and boat school tries to cut down their daily expenses on equipment maintenance, so as to improve their daily life from two aspects, financial circumstances and health condition. Consequently, such project creates new relationship between human, boat and fish.
