Locus Preservation: Nightingale Hong Kong

In recent years, urban renewal projects in Hong Kong have been dominated by the profit driven private sectors, which essentially undermines the cultural and social aspects of projects. Such neglection leads to the gradual disintegration of Genius Loci, the distinctive atmosphere of a city. Aspiring to restitude the sense of place in Hong Kong, Nightingale Locus Preservation aims to protect the socio-cultural characteristics of the site through three major aspects; A new financial model that adapts to Hong Kong’s current system; Spatial design that fosters community engagement and small daily moments, and finally architectural language that resonates with the place.
