Thermo Kettle

Changing perceptions of energy & water.

In the words of the designer:

I wanted to create a kettle which slaughtered the norm and used materials you would not find in competing products. People tend to link transparency to air, weightlessness and the cold, it is almost never linked with warmth, insulation and heat. My clear kettle is highly insulated using evacuated tube technology implemented in the latest solar energy power plants. Heat is unable to be conducted away from the inner flask allowing the contents of the kettle to stay hot for hours. Unlike other kettles, the exterior wall will stay cool due to the lack of conduction from the inner flask. This makes the Thermo Kettle safe and family-friendly.

Due to the somewhat ‘floating’ nature of the inner flask; it is necessary for wireless induction heating of the element to be implemented. Induction heating is efficient and fast while ensuring the base stays cool and safe to touch. The main body of the kettle is completely clear making it possible to see the water boiling inside. Pressurisation, pouring angle and thermal resilience has been taken into account during development of this product.
