Urban Wetland Community
Creating a community based on smart water management.
Using existing terrain around Albion Station to create natural wetlands, this project builds up a community around the site based on smart water management. Harvesting storm water and rooftop run off, the wetlands create a cool precinct for mixed-use including residential, educational and retail. The visible water technologies include shaped water tanks designed to capture only the final stage of floodwater; boardwalk-based social spaces across occasional water courses; and irrigation of rooftop gardens and orchards using the filtered harvested water.
