The flow of the Ground Floor thoroughfare responds to original landforms. There was once a lake in the area and a creek flowed through campus and down into the Yarra River.
Today visitors, students and staff flow through the MSD building and take advantage of the space as a pathway across campus.
The Ground Floor's Landmarks
Visitors, students and staff flow through the MSD building and take advantage of the space as a pathway across campus. Not only do people pass through, but they can sit or stand, meet others, take shortcuts to other parts of the campus, work or study.
The Architecture, Building and Planning Library holds the best collection for our disciplines in Australasia and offers students an inspirational place to study.
The Maker Spaces include a range of specialised workshops and facilities that provide students and staff with access to state-of-the-art machines and tools in purpose built collaborative spaces that are supported by expert technicians.
The Dulux Gallery is our largest exhibition space and is named to reflect the support we have received from this key supplier to the building industry.
