The flow of the Ground Floor thoroughfare responds to original landforms. There was once a lake in the area and a creek flowed through campus and down into the Yarra River.
Today visitors, students and staff flow through the MSD building and take advantage of the space as a pathway across campus.
The Ground Floor's Landmarks
Visitors, students and staff flow through the MSD building and take advantage of the space as a pathway across campus. Not only do people pass through, but they can sit or stand, meet others, take shortcuts to other parts of the campus, work or study.
The Architecture, Building and Planning Library holds the best collection for our disciplines in Australasia and offers students an inspirational place to study.
The Fabrication Workshop provides access to advanced fabrication and 3D printing technologies. This up-to-date facility supports hands-on learning to explore the way we make buildings.
