From Hybrid Environments to Altered Realities
Digital Technologies have shifted how we communicate with each other and expanded the way we visualize our ideas in design and in general. The first common applications of augmented and mixed reality applications imagine a future in which these technologies will alter our relationships with each other and the world around us, overlaying physical realities with layers of digital information thereby shifting our experiences and our relationships. What are the promises and opportunities, threats and challenges for our daily lives and our design practices? What new opportunities arise for the design disciplines in expanding our creative toolbox? What new formats and practices will emerge? This panel presents experimental projects that explore new applications of augmented, virtual and mixed reality projects in design research and practice.
