Construction Ambassador Program
About the program
Construction Ambassador Program (CAP) at Melbourne provides a range of opportunities for a selected group of dedicated, high-performing and energetic students to develop leadership and interpersonal skills and support employability, career growth and overall success in the profession.
The CAP will equip the Ambassadors with unique skills and techniques and build their confidence to become future leaders in the construction industry. They will act as conduits between the construction alumni, current students and industry professionals and generally present Construction at Melbourne for a higher visibility widely.
Objectives of the program
The key objectives of the CAP program include:
- Opportunities for the students to develop a sense of belongingness and enhance their university experience
- Participate in industry forums and networks
- Contribute to various leadership-oriented projects in the context of construction and the overall built environment
- Offer mentorships and support to peers within and outside the program
- Development of interpersonal and leadership skills
- Assist in Program, Faculty or even University events
- Provide advocacy for the program
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for CAP, students must
- enrol full-time in the Master of Construction Management (MCM) course
- have finished one semester full-time
- have passed all subjects in the first semester
- continue the full-time candidature for at least two consecutive semesters before being graduated
In the application process, students must
- Submit a duly filled application form
- Supply the official transcript of the previous semester’s results
- A persuasive personal statement of a maximum of 1000 words
- Appear in an interview upon being shortlisted
- Be motivated to volunteer as an Ambassador and committed to giving back to the program as required
- Be prepared to work in groups, including putting in extra hours to accommodate these extracurricular activities in addition to their other academic activities
Ambassadors must work towards
- Developing a strong cohort of Ambassadors in Construction with pride
- Participate upto 80% of all activities before receiving an Ambassador’s Completion Certificate
- Branding the program widely and lifting the reputation

- Current program date: 01 Aug 2025 – 30 July 2026
- Application open: 01June 2025
