Dean's Honours Awards & Prizes
The Dean's Honours Awards recognise the outstanding academic achievements of undergraduate and graduate students across the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning. The Faculty brings together our undergraduate majors and professional degrees with the Melbourne School of Design, Australia's leading graduate school for the built environment.
It is a genuine pleasure to congratulate those students whose exceptional performance has earned them a place on the Dean's Honours List. This recognition is reserved for students whose academic achievements place them among the top three to five per cent of the 2025 cohort - a remarkable accomplishment that reflects sustained commitment, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge themselves.
Excellence in our Faculty is measured by far more than grades alone. It is demonstrated through the questions you ask, the generosity with which you engage ideas, and the persistence you show when confronting complex problems. The built environment demands creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, and these qualities are evident in the work of the students we celebrate today.
As a Faculty, we believe that design has the capacity to improve lives and shape more equitable, sustainable and inspiring futures. Whether your work explores architecture, landscape architecture, heritage, urban planning, construction, property or the many emerging fields transforming our disciplines, you are contributing to conversations that will influence the places and communities of tomorrow.
Your success is also a reflection of the learning community that surrounds you - your teachers, professional staff, peers, friends and families - whose encouragement and support have helped you reach this milestone. I hope you take a moment to celebrate what you have achieved together.
On behalf of the Faculty, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. I encourage you to continue approaching your work with curiosity, generosity and ambition. The challenges facing our cities, landscapes and built environments have never been greater, but neither has the opportunity for thoughtful, creative graduates to make a meaningful difference. I look forward to seeing the many ways in which you will shape our professions, our communities and the future.
