Enabling Public Transport Networks with Level Crossing Removals in Melbourne's West

This studio will offer students opportunities to work with local and state government transport planners and other professionals to explore the opportunities for improved public transport networks in Melbourne’s West that might be created through level crossing removals in the suburbs centred on the Williamstown, Werribee and Wyndham Vale/Melton/Sunbury rail lines.

It is recommended that students taking this studio have previously completed Public Transport Network Planning (ABPL 90090) as many of the concepts explored in that course will be applied in the studio. If you have not done this subject, you will need to do some additional reading before the studio begins.

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes will focus on:

  • identifying transport access issues and their resolution through effective strategic planning;
  • proposing creative solutions to identified transport problems in Melbourne’s West;
  • communicating and advocating effectively in a clear and professional manner.
