The ABP Industry Mentoring Program is an opportunity for you to be matched with ABP alumni to learn about their experiences, develop professional skills and better understand where you could take your career.

Our alumni will pass on their expertise to you, assisting you with your career decision-making process, and enabling a smooth transition from tertiary study to professional life. Their guidance will provide you with an invaluable source of insight into your future.

Program Structure

The ABP Industry Mentoring Program is a 5-month commitment that connects eligible students with an experienced graduate of their chosen study area.

The one-to-one mentoring structure fosters relationships between industry professionals and students and offers the opportunity to discuss career aspirations and concerns while gaining advice and guidance to help prepare students for the transition from university to the workplace.

Mentors and students are matched according to study area or degree and career interests and experience and meet at least 3 times (online or in person) over the period of the program.

  • Program runs from July to November
  • Mentoring pairs meet (online or in-person) at least 3 times over the course of the program
  • Frequency, length and format of meetings is discussed at the first mentoring meeting
  • Support and resources, along with networking opportunities are provided
  • There will be one application intake in 2023 for this program

Student Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the ABP Industry Mentoring Program students need to:

  • Be enrolled in one of the below listed eligible courses during semester 2, 2023:
    • Either second or third year of the Bachelor of Design
    • An ABP graduate coursework degree
  • Submit an application

Only students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a mentor in this program.

We cannot guarantee all students who apply for this program will be matched with a mentor. We will endeavour to match as many students as possible to available mentors.
