Studio Description
VIDEO-ART GALLERY + APARTMENT BUILDING MELBOURNE CBD
BRIEF: Students will design a hybrid apartment building with an art gallery dedicated to video art and a small rooftop cinema. The project requires a design that is propositional about the morphology of the gallery and apartment block, as well as concepts surrounding the influence of the media and the screen (cinema, television, video-art, advertising and social media) on architectural form and space.
CONCEPT: The concept behind this studio is two-fold: the influence of the cinema and media in the shaping of architectural space, image and form in the contemporary city, and the design of an apartment building and video-art gallery that will explore the relationship between domestic space and the video screen.
Studio Outcome
