Sareh Moosavi & Bridget Keane

Studio Description

In this studio you will explore the trajectories, flows and resistances of human and non-human agents in the contested space under transmission lines - the 'underline'. You will develop new strategies that imagine possible futures for these spaces and sets of relationships. Reconsidering the value of these important infrastructure corridors as connectors to larger green networks and discussing through a collective exhibition.

Studio Outcomes

Studio participants will work with studio partners – OFFICE, Melbourne Centre for Cities and the City of Casey to expand on the Melbourne Biodiversity Network through the lens of planning. Developing a brief, you will develop your projects in groups and develop a collective exhibition.

Studio Leaders

Sareh Moosavi

Dr Sareh Moosavi is a lecturer in Environmental Planning and Design at the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning, the University of Melbourne. Her research and teaching activities focus on innovative design and planning approaches for climate responsive cities, with a particular interest in the role of landscape-led and nature-based approaches.

Bridget Keane

Dr Bridget Keane is a Lecturer in Learning and Teaching at the Built Environments Learning + Teaching (BEL+T) group at the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning, the University of Melbourne. Her teaching and creative practice focus on the role of design in the context of climate crisis and positioning the designer as one of many interacting agents within complex ecological, material, and economic systems.
