MSDx exhibition display set-up is a big task. Your Studio Leaders have completed a Risk Assessment and requested equipment they think you will need to use. Please be mindful of people in the building and take all necessary precautions to minimise risks. Practice safe working environments, and ensure all access pathways are clear of hazards.
Important
A really important note we want to share based on past installs - please do not stand on any furniture (this includes tables, chairs, etc). Ladders will be supplied. Please ask the roving staff if you are having trouble locating a ladder.
Safety of work
Students are invited to participate in MSDx exhibitions; however, they must be aware that the building is a public space, and the safety of their work cannot be guaranteed. While security measures are in place, the risk of loss or damage remains. Students are responsible for deciding whether to display their original work or instead submit a photograph or digital version.
All works must be collected by the clean out dates. Any unclaimed work will be discarded after this time.
Equipment and tools
MSDx Equipment kits will be distributed on all floors by the elevator, the Makerspace on Ground floor and B117 foyer area. All equipment must be returned after use. Please use equipment safely - if you're not sure how to use a piece of equipment, ask a staff member.

Install tips
- Other general tools are to be provided upon request (i.e., power boards, extension leads, hammers, mallets, laser measures).
- If you plan to exhibit heavy items (>10kg), suspend work or construction builds, you must contact the MSD Exhibitions team to discuss installation.
- Only secure works/prints with T-pins or Push pins provided on the perforated walls in the Level 1 Atrium.
- Please don't use screws, tape, glue guns, double-sided tape, velcro, or Blu Tack, as these will cause damage to the surfaces.
- Please ask the MSD Exhibitions team if you wish to display on the concrete finish walls in the Basement. Blu Tack in particular will stain the walls and cause permanent scarring.
If you have any suggestions for additional resources to help you set up for MSDx, we'd love to hear them. If you have any questions about the exhibition or your work, please contact your tutor.
